Pricing

The board is one screen split into 14,400 tiles (160 across, 90 down). Each tile is 10×10 pixels, drawn at 2× so it stays sharp when you zoom in. You buy tiles with site credit, then put whatever you like on them.
What a tile costs
A tile that has never been sold costs $0.01. So $1 buys a 10×10 block — a 100×100 pixel spot on the board.
Once a tile has an owner, taking it costs more. The minimum bid is 10% above the current price, or one cent more, whichever is larger, rounded up to the nearest cent:

Every tile is priced on its own. Picking a box that happens to contain one expensive tile does not drag the price of the cheap ones up — you pay each tile's own minimum, and you can leave the expensive one out of your selection.
The $1 order minimum
Every order is at least $1.00. If the tiles you picked add up to less than that, the difference is spread across them, raising each tile's price.
Example: you pick 4 unsold tiles. Their minimum is $0.04. The order still costs $1.00, so each tile is bought at $0.25 instead of $0.01. Nothing is wasted — a higher price simply makes those tiles harder for the next person to take.
When someone takes your tile
Anyone can outbid you at any time. There is no way to lock a tile, and holding one is not a permanent right. When it happens:
- 70% of what the new owner paid is added to your credit balance.
- The other 30% is our fee.
- Your artwork and link on that tile are removed. Tiles you still hold are untouched — losing one tile in the middle of a picture leaves a hole, not a blank canvas.
Credit you receive this way behaves like credit you bought: spendable on the board, not withdrawable and not convertible to cash.
Adding credit
Credit comes in four sizes:

Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. Depending on where you are, sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout on top of the amounts above. The credit you receive is the amount shown in the table — tax is not credit.
Credit cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or converted to cash. It only buys tiles on this board. Please only add what you intend to spend here.
Credit is available to spend immediately, and at checkout you agree to that — which is why it is non-refundable once spent. If you have added credit and not spent any of it, write to us within 14 days and we will refund it. See Terms §3a for the detail.
What's free
- Drawing and re-drawing. Once a tile is yours, painting it, uploading an image, adding text, and changing your mind as often as you like costs nothing.
- Adding or changing a link. Links are checked against Google Safe Browsing before they go live.
- Looking around. Browsing the board needs no account and no payment.
